We wrote this article on 28 September 2026 from the official Meta announcement, the Meta security blog, the Muse Code documentation, and reports from TechCrunch and Axios. In our test on the same date, muse.ai opened from an Indonesian network and showed a login form. We did not create an account, so we did not test features inside the app. The download numbers come from third-party research firms, not from Meta.

Why Muse matters to businesses in Indonesia

In the last 90 days, Google Trends Indonesia shows "muse ai agent" as a Breakout query related to "ai agent". The query "muse ai" grew 2,700%. We pulled this data on 28 September 2026. People in Indonesia already search for Muse, although the app is not available here.

The change that matters to a business is the direction of the conversation. A normal chatbot waits for a customer to ask. Muse works for the customer: it compares shops, fills in forms, and pays. So your next buyer is not always a person who reads the page. Sometimes the buyer is an agent that reads the page for a person. What Muse is and what Meta released

The Muse Spark model

Muse uses Muse Spark, which Meta calls its most capable model to date for agenticAgenticA way of working where an AI agent performs the routine steps and a person checks and approves the result.Open the glossary work. Source: Meta announcement, 8 September 2026. The Meta security blog says Muse Spark 1.3 is trained for tool calling through CLIs, long context, and resistance to prompt injection.

Where to use it: app, web, and WhatsApp

Meta writes that you can talk to Muse in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp, like a message to another person. The WhatsApp Help Center says you connect your WhatsApp account to Muse from your primary phone, not from WhatsApp Web. Sources: Meta Newsroom and WhatsApp Help Center.

Price and payment card

Muse is free with a usage limit. There are 2 paid plans: Power at USD 20 per month and Maximum at USD 100 per month. Muse asks for a payment card at the start. Sources: TechCrunch, 8 September 2026 and Axios, 8 September 2026. At checkout, Muse uses Link by Stripe with a single-use card.

Early adoption numbers

Apptopia estimates 2.8 million global installs in the first 12 days. For iOS in the US and Canada, Muse had 1.8 million downloads, and ChatGPT had 1.3 million in the same period after its launch. How Muse works: Secure VM, Sentinel, and approvals

Each user gets 1 virtual machine (VM) in the Meta cloud. Muse works inside an isolated runtime cell. The model never sees real passwords or tokens. The main source for this section is the Meta security blog, 8 September 2026.

Sentinel decides every action

Sentinel is a separate agent on the same VM. Muse only proposes an action. Sentinel decides: allow, deny, or ask the user. All network requests also go through Sentinel. The approval dialog shows in the app UI, not in the chat, so text on a web page cannot fake an approval.

authd keeps the credentials

authd stores OAuth tokens in the user VM. Muse sees only surrogate tokens. Sentinel swaps a surrogate token for the real token after the request passes. For payments, Muse uses a single-use card tied to 1 merchant, 1 amount, and a limited time.

The diagram shows the same harness pattern that a coding agent uses: the model can make mistakes, but deterministic limits around it contain the damage. Meta also opened a bug bounty of up to USD 300,000, including up to USD 130,000 for a successful prompt injection on 1 user.

Record 2 limits. First, Meta can still access VM data when it must support, secure, or operate the service. Muse Confidential VM, which blocks this access, is planned for late 2026. Second, conversations can train the model after key personal data is removed. Users can turn this off in settings.

Is Muse available in Indonesia?

No. Meta writes that Muse launched in the US on 8 September 2026 (Meta Newsroom). TechCrunch wrote on 25 September 2026 that Muse is available only in the US and Canada (TechCrunch). We found no Meta announcement for Indonesia or Southeast Asia up to 28 September 2026.

So the Rama Digital recommendation is: do not wait for Muse in Indonesia to prepare. Other agents with a browser, for example ChatGPT agent and Hermes Agent, can already open business pages today. The pattern that Muse uses, which is connectors, a browser, and checkout, is also the pattern of other agents.

Muse Code vs Claude Code, Codex, and Hermes Agent

Muse Code is a different product. It is the Meta coding agent for the terminal and CI. Meta released the Muse Code beta on 5 August 2026 (TechCrunch). The official documentation gives the default model muse-spark-1.2, an OS sandbox from the first run, and the headless mode muse exec (Muse Code documentation).

What you need before you start

  • A list of your 10 most-bought products or services, with current price and stock.
  • Admin access to your website, online shop, or marketplace catalog.
  • Access to your WhatsApp Business number and to the chatbot or support team that answers it.
  • 1 browser with no login, to test pages as a new visitor.
  • 1 spreadsheet to record each test result and its date.

Step 1: Record the doors an agent uses to buy from you

Open the spreadsheet and write where customers buy: your own website, Shopify, a marketplace, or WhatsApp chat. Meta says Muse reads the whole Shopify catalog since launch, and it added Walmart, Sephora, Gap, and Wayfair at Connect on 23 September 2026 (Meta Newsroom, 24 September 2026). When your shop has no connector, Muse opens the site in a browser. Verify: each product has 1 public URL that opens without a login.

Step 2: Make product pages readable without guesswork

The Meta security blog says the Muse browser sub-agent reads the accessibility tree of a page, not the raw DOM. So write price, stock, variants, and shipping as text. Give each button a clear label, for example "Add to cart", not an icon with no name. Verify: open the page with a screen reader or the browser reader mode, and check that price and the buy button are readable.

Step 3: Test checkout and booking forms as a guest

Muse asks the user to approve every payment and uses a single-use card. A checkout that forces account signup, or hides shipping until the last step, is a dead end for an agent. Test 1 order from a browser with no login. Verify: the order finishes in 5 steps or fewer, and the total shows before payment.

Step 4: Prepare your WhatsApp chatbot for structured answers

Questions from an agent are usually complete and specific, for example size, location, date, and price limit in 1 message. Make sure your chatbot or support team answers price, stock, and schedule in 1 reply, and then sends a payment link. Verify: send 3 complete test questions and record whether each answer has price, availability, and the next step.

Step 5 (optional): Watch for signs of agent visits

Meta writes that when Muse browses, the visit shows as the user activity. So you cannot always tell an agent from a person. Record unusual patterns: sessions that go straight to checkout, forms filled in seconds, or many price questions from 1 address. Verify: write 1 note per week in the spreadsheet.

Can I use Muse in Indonesia now? No. On 28 September 2026, Muse is available only in the United States and Canada. Meta has not given a date for Indonesia.
