Landing Pages on Phones: Layout Rules and How to Test Them
Most ad clicks in Indonesia arrive from phones. Read the touch size rules, text width, block order, and how to test on a mobile network.

Design the page for phones first, then adjust for large screens. The 2026 APJII survey records 235 million internet users in Indonesia, a penetration of 81.72 percent of 287 million people. Most of that access runs through phones.
Layout rules to keep
| Element | Rule | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Buttons | Touch height 44 pixels or more | A finger covers more area than a cursor. |
| Body text | 16 pixels or more | Smaller text triggers automatic zoom. |
| Line length | 45 to 75 characters | Long lines make the eye lose its place. |
| Wide tables | Give them a scrolling container | Shrinking a table makes the numbers unreadable. |

Mistakes that repeat
- The button touches the screen edge, so the finger hits browser chrome.
- A full-height hero image pushes the page promise below the fold.
- A promotion popup covers the whole screen in the first second.
- The WhatsApp number is plain text, so nobody can tap it.
