A WordPress landing page service fits you when your team must edit page content each day, and you already run a maintained WordPress server. Outside that condition, WordPress adds cost and upkeep work without adding leads.

Condition: WordPress runs on a server with PHP and a database. WordPress.org recommends PHP 8.3 or greater, MariaDB 10.11 or MySQL 8.0, and HTTPS on each install. So you pay for hosting, then you name the person who installs updates.

Limit: Rama Digital builds a fast static page on Cloudflare, not a WordPress build. If WordPress is a hard requirement, we hand over the copy and the page structure for your team. I wrote this article so you pick the tool after you understand the job.

The job of one landing page: 1 offer, 1 action

A landing page is 1 page that receives ad clicks. The page does not sell the whole company. The page closes 1 small decision.

I check 4 items on each page before I judge the tool.

  • One offer. The reader sees 1 promise, not 5 packages.
  • One action. There is 1 primary button, such as submit a form or open WhatsApp.
  • Fast load on a phone with a weak network.
  • Tracking that reports the lead. Tracking is the record that tells you which ad sent the lead.

These 4 items name no tool. WordPress can meet them. A static page can meet them. So your question is not "WordPress or not". Your question is "who edits this page, and who maintains it".

WordPress is a content panel. Think of a content panel as a cash register: staff can use it without a technician. A static page is a ready-to-serve file. Think of that file as a printed brochure: the content stays until someone prints a new version.

At a glance: WordPress against a static page

This table compares 2 ways to build 1 landing page. I write the monthly cost column as a cost type, not as a market rate, because hosting prices differ at each provider.

Default speedFollows the theme and the plugin countLight from the first file

Comparison card for WordPress and a static page across 4 rows: speed, monthly cost, upkeep, and who edits it
The diagram shows 4 points of difference between WordPress and a static page. Row content comes from the WordPress.org requirements page and from how we hand a page over.

People forget the upkeep row when they compare prices. The WordPress upgrade guide asks you to back up the site before an update. The same guide states that a rollback is near impossible without a backup. That work does not disappear. It moves to another person.

Speed: ask for a number, not for a word

Many quotations promise a "fast page" with no number. I use 3 public measures from Google so you can check the promise. All 3 are read at the 75th percentile of page loads, split between phone and desktop.

  • LCP of 2.5 seconds or less. LCP is the time until the largest part of the page appears.
  • INP of 200 milliseconds or less. INP is the wait between a tap and the page reaction.
  • CLS of 0.1 or less. CLS is the amount of layout shift while the page loads.

These numbers are not ours. They are public thresholds from the web.dev documentation. I do not print a client load time in this article, because such a number is only valid when I measure it on your own page.

WordPress is not slow by default. A heavy theme and stacked plugins make it slow. A static page starts from a lighter point, because no PHP assembles the page at each visit. The starting points differ, but you must still measure the result.

The anatomy of a page that turns clicks into messages

Page structure decides more than the tool name. I use 5 blocks in order, and each block holds 1 job.

Five landing page blocks from headline to form, each labelled with one job
The diagram shows the order of 5 page blocks and the one job of each block. This order is our observation from reviews of client ad pages.
  1. Headline. This block states 1 result for 1 person.
  2. Proof. This block puts numbers, work photos, or real client names on the page.
  3. Offer content. This block writes what you receive and what you do not receive.
  4. Objection answers. This block answers the 3 most common reasons to refuse.
  5. Form or button. This block asks for 1 action, with the smallest field count.

Block 3 is the block that stays empty most often. The page writes a large promise, then it skips the service limit. The reader then asks in chat about an item that the page should already state. That is my observation, not a study result.

Once the structure is ready, the work order becomes easy to plan. I wrote the time estimate in a separate note on how long a landing page build takes.

WordPress landing page service: when the choice is right

I do not refuse WordPress. WordPress wins on the 4 conditions below, and those conditions are real in many businesses.

  • Your team edits page content each day, with no developer on standby.
  • You already own WordPress hosting, a licensed theme, and a person who maintains it.
  • The ad page must live beside a blog and a catalogue that already sit in WordPress.
  • You use plugins that hold a business process, such as booking or membership.

In that case, a move of 1 page to another tool adds work with no result. Stay on WordPress, then spend the money on 3 items: a light theme, correct tracking, and an update schedule.

We do not sell a WordPress build. Our service builds a fast static page on Cloudflare. If WordPress is a hard requirement, we hand over the copy and the page structure, and your team installs it. I state this limit at the start of a quotation, not at the end of a project.

Build a cheap landing page without regret 3 months later

"Build a cheap landing page" is a fair request. The price drops because the scope drops, not because the quality drops. These items lower the price of a page.

  • An existing template, not a new design from zero.
  • One revision round, not unlimited revisions.
  • No custom illustration and no custom photography.
  • Copy from a brief and a short interview, not market research.
  • One language and 1 page.

Now the expensive part. A cheap page becomes expensive when the saving moves the cost into the next month.

Saving at the startCost that appears later
Tracking skippedYou cannot tell which ad produced the lead
Heavy all-purpose themeCost per click rises because people leave a slow page
Stacked pluginsThe page breaks after 1 update, and messages stop
No handoverYou pay again to change 1 line of text
No tested formLeads land in a spam folder without your knowledge

Ask for these 4 items at any price: 1 lead event proved to fire, full access to the domain and the page, a note on how to change text, and 1 measured LCP number. I put the full list in the checklist for choosing a landing page service.

A simulation with dummy data

The example below is a simulation with dummy data. The numbers are not a client result. I use them to show how to reach a decision, not to promise an outcome.

Starting condition. An example clinic runs 1 ad page on WordPress. It has an all-purpose theme, 14 active plugins, and no lead event.

Input. 1,000 ad clicks in 30 days. All numbers in this simulation are dummy data.

Steps. Four steps run in order.

  1. Measure the LCP of that page on a phone, then record the number.
  2. Turn off the plugins that the ad page does not use.
  3. Move the ad page to 1 static page, and leave the blog on WordPress.
  4. Install 1 lead event on the submit button.

Observable output. In this simulation, LCP falls from 4.1 seconds to 1.6 seconds. Form submissions rise from 18 to 27 across 30 days. The lead event now reports 3 different ad sources.

Decision. The blog and the catalogue stay on WordPress, because staff edit them each day. The ad page uses a static page, because it changes only when the offer changes. You can run 2 tools on 1 domain.

I cover the pattern for an ad page that sends people to WhatsApp in this Meta Ads to WhatsApp landing page example.

Checklist before you pay

  1. Write 1 offer and 1 action for this page.
  2. Ask which tool the build uses, and who edits the content after handover.
  3. Ask for a measured LCP number, not a promise of a "fast page".
  4. Ask for 1 lead event tested in front of you.
  5. Confirm the domain, the hosting, and the ad account are in your name.
  6. Add up the monthly cost: hosting, theme licence, plugin licences, and upkeep hours.
  7. Agree the revision round count before the work starts.
  8. Ask for a 1 page handover note, with steps to change text and images.

Questions and answers

Must a landing page be built on WordPress? No. WordPress is 1 option, not a requirement. Pick WordPress when your team edits content each day and you already maintain a WordPress server.

Can I build a cheap landing page without losing leads? Yes, when you cut the scope and keep the tracking. Use a template, hold to 1 revision round, and skip custom illustration. Do not skip the lead event or the handover.

Does Rama Digital build pages on WordPress? No. We build a fast static page on Cloudflare. If WordPress is a hard requirement, we hand over the copy and the page structure for your team.

What page speed counts as good? The web.dev documentation gives LCP of 2.5 seconds or less, INP of 200 milliseconds or less, and CLS of 0.1 or less. All 3 are read at the 75th percentile of page loads.

Do plugins put my page at risk? Plugins add code that you must update. The WordPress guide asks for a backup before an update, and states a rollback is near impossible without one. Keep the plugin count low on an ad page.

What must I prepare before the build starts? Prepare 1 offer, a price or a price range, 3 real proof items, and domain access. Those 4 items cut the most revision time.

Next step

Write 1 offer and 1 action for your page first. Then pick the tool. If you want 1 fast page with copy and basic tracking, read the scope and the limits on our landing page build service. If WordPress is your requirement, ask us to hand over the copy and the structure for your team.
